Year 6

Character Design and Description

In groups, we worked together to create a brand new character that could exist in a book. Once we shared our ideas and came up with a plan, we then drew our character.

Once our designs were finished, we swapped with another group. We then wrote a character description for the characters we were given, aiming to draw inspiration from character descriptions we have read in books.

Please find below photos of our incredible costumes (see if you can guess who we came dressed up as); our work; and books that were very kindly gifted to us by Mrs Harper.

Comic Books of Malala Yousafzai

We discussed how comic books, graphic novels and similar types of books are all perfectly acceptable forms of reading! We then worked to create our very own comic books.

As March is Women's History Month, we decided to link our comics to an inspirational woman who has helped make the world a better place. Our comic books retell the story of Malala Yousafzai, a Pakistani activist for equal rights!
