As a learning community centred in Christ, we walk hand in hand with God on our journey in faith.
Weeks 1 and 2
We have looked at the masterpieces of Chuck Close. We know that he is a contemporary artist, who painted photo-realist portraits from real photographs. Chuck Close was a disabled artist, who never let his disability stop him becoming a famous artist.
Our portraits of Mary and Joseph are in the style of Chuck Close.
Weeks 3 and 4
We looked at the work of the Paul Klee, who is well-know for his use of colours and childlike masterpieces. He is a famous German abstract artist, who loved the works of Picasso and he was great friends with Kandinsky- another famous abstract artist.
Paul Klee is well-known for his use of 'taking a line for a walk'. This is where a continuous line is used to form shapes and an entire drawing without taking the pencil off the paper. The children used this technique and warm colours to produce a Paul Klee inspired face.
