As a learning community centred in Christ, we walk hand in hand with God on our journey in faith.

Parliament Assembly

Year 6

We had a special visit from the UK Parliament Outreach Service, which helped us learn about Parliament and what democracy means. The session was fun and taught us why it's important to get involved in our community, like visiting Parliament and talking about important issues with our friends.

We discovered the different jobs of the House of Lords and the House of Commons, and how they work together when voting on new laws. This made us appreciate how our democracy works and how it keeps everything balanced. We also learned about the King's special role, especially when he visits the House of Lords, which shows how important the monarchy is in our democracy.

Connecting this experience to our Catholic values, we see the importance of helping others and standing up for what is right, reminding us that we all have a part to play in making our democracy strong.
