Homework

Homework is set every Friday to be returned the following Wednesday.

If your child needs help with their homework, they have the opportunity to to ask for help with their homework on Monday and Tuesday. In year 6,children are growing in independence and should therefore be completing their own additional work relating to what they have learnt each week. 

 

Reading:

  • All children are expected to read to and adult for at least 30 minutes every day.
  • Diaries must be signed and brought to school each day. 

 

Times Tables:

  • All children must practise their times tables for a minimum of 10 minutes each day on Times Tables Rock Stars.
  • Children must learn their multiplication and division facts up to 12x12.

 

Maths, Grammar and Comprehension:

  • Each week children will be a set three tasks to consolidate what they have learnt during the week. 

 

Spelling:

  • Children will learn a spelling rule each week. They will have a week to learn the rule and will be tested on ten spellings each Friday.
